Clayton County police are investigating a double shooting Monday at a homeless camp.

The incident happened around 3:50 p.m. in an area near Forest Parkway and I-75.

The victims told police that a man tried to rob them after asking for a place to sleep. The man pulled out a handgun and demanded money, then started shooting when they told him they didn’t have any, the men told authorities.

Roger Coley, 43, was shot in the head, police said. He is in the intensive care unit at a hospital but is alert and talking.

Chun Park, 57, was treated for his injuries and released.

The suspect was described as a black man, about 6 feet tall and 165 pounds. He wears an earring in his right ear and has a low hair cut. Park told Channel 2 Action News that the man appeared to be in his early 20s. The suspect was last seen wearing a dark blue shirt and dark jeans.
