DeKalb County police are spending Sunday tracking down tips and witnesses in a murder at a Stone Mountain apartment complex.
Police told Channel 2 Action News that a man was found shot to death at around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday in the parking lot of Hampton Village Apartments off Tree Mountain Parkway.
DeKalb Police Lt. J.A. Lewis said investigators do not have a motive or leads in the case at this time, but that the victim was a 22-year-old man who died of a gunshot to the head. Investigators said the man was shot as he was getting into his truck.
"When I was driving away from work I [saw] him and we spoke and I had no idea that all this was even going on," a witness, Gaoda McFadden, told Channel 2.
Neighbors told Channel 2 they heard the shooting but thought it was a car backfiring.
