Police investigating after remains found near cemetery

Atlanta police are investigating after remains were found near a cemetery Friday afternoon.
The remains were discovered at Marietta Boulevard NW and Chattahoochee Avenue NW, near Crestlawn Cemetery. The caller reported seeing what appeared to be bones, police said.
Authorities do not yet know if the remains are human, but police said the homicide unit and Medical Examiner’s Office were sent to the scene to investigate.
