Atlanta Police  are investigating an apparent hit-and-run death early Sunday morning.

Around 2:22 a.m., police say a man was hit and killed on the southbound side of the Downtown Connector near the Martin Luther King Drive overpass.

Jacob G.  Halbrooks, 23, of Covington, died of blunt force trauma, according to the Fulton County Medical Examiner's office.

Police say Halbrooks was walking, and preliminary investigations suggest he was hit by a heavy truck.
