The Fayetteville police are seeking a man who they said tried to abduct a female jogger at gunpoint.
Jennifer Nguyen told Channel 2 Action News that she has been replaying the incident over and over in her mind.
The 18-year-old was jogging in her Fayetteville neighborhood about 12:50 p.m. Thursday when a man driving a small, red, four-door passenger car -- possibly an older model with peeling paint on its hood -- approached her in his vehicle, police said.
The man pointed a gun at her and told her to get in the vehicle, police said.
The first thing she thought about was running, Nguyen said.
She told Channel 2 that she pretended to talk to police on her cellphone, yelling, "Someone is following me."
"When I started running, I thought I might get shot," she said.
She got away and called 911, police said.
Authorities described the suspect as being in his early to mid-20s and having Middle Eastern or Hispanic features with curly unkempt hair and a full beard. They said he may speak broken English.
Anyone with information was asked to call Detective Melissa Peacock at the Fayetteville Police Department at 770 719-4227.
