Police: Doctor charged with child molestation fails to turn himself in

A doctor charged with child molestation failed to show up for an arranged meeting with Sandy Springs detectives to turn himself in on Monday, according to police.

Criminal warrants had been issued for Kelly Thrasher, who is out on bond, as authorities seek to return him to custody, police announced Sunday. Thrasher is charged with identify fraud and forgery in the second degree for allegedly getting a U.S. passport under another name.

Thrasher was indicted on child molestation charges in Fulton County in 2013. He was arrested again in January and charged with practicing medicine without a license, police said. He allegedly was seeing patients in his office despite that his license was suspended by the state medical board pending the outcome of his legal cases.

Thrasher is possibly driving a silver 2011 Acura MDX, bearing Georgia tag PCS6407, according to police.

Anyone with information on his location should contact Sandy Springs police at 770-551-6900.
