DeKalb County will swear in its new police chief Monday morning, followed by several visits throughout the county.

Cedric Alexander will be sworn into office at 8:30 a.m. Monday in a ceremony at the DeKalb History Center inside the Old Courthouse on Decatur Square.

Alexander is slated to visit Cedar Grove Middle School at 10 a.m. Public events also will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Lou Walker Senior Center on Panola Road near Lithonia and at 1 p.m. at Oak Grove Market on LaVista Road north of Decatur.
