Peachtree Street has been reopened after a suspicious package scare Tuesday morning.

Police detonated the package that had closed the intersection of Peachtree and 14th streets in Midtown. A firefighter on the scene told the AJC that the package, a cardboard box, contained trash bags.

The bomb squad blew up the package around 9:45 a.m. The package was a cardboard box sitting on the sidewalk in front of the Camponile Building, 1155 Peachtree.
