A Norcross man who stabbed his girlfriend, drove her to a local hospital then escaped on foot, was arrested late Sunday, Gwinnett police said.

Christopher Farmer, 26, left his companion, Cindy Damour, at the emergency room Friday morning, police said. She was recently upgraded to stable condition, according to police. Farmer was apprehended near his residence in the 4020 block of Northridge Way.

Damour was stabbed while walking along Arc Way toward Beaver Ruin Road on Friday morning. Investigators say she had been arguing with Farmer before leaving their apartment on foot. Farmer followed her in his car, jumped out and stabbed the 22-year-old in the chest.
