Henry County officials took a step toward adding a senior center in
Hampton with the Feb. 3 approval by the Board of Commissioners of a bid for $187,500 architectural design services. The dual-purpose senior center and recreation center is planned for 56 McDonough St. in Hampton. It is budgeted under the county’s newest SPLOST although it was on project lists for two previous SPLOSTs and has been in the works for a decade. Officials expect to break ground on the facility this summer.
