A plane crashed on the roof of a home on St. Simons Island on Tuesday morning, authorities said.
Two people were onboard the Piper PA-32 that departed from Jacksonville Executive at Craig Airport Tuesday morning, according to a Federal Aviation Administration representative.

The plane was headed to Savannah-Hilton Head International Airport when it crashed just before 11 a.m. in the area of Circle Drive. There were reports of the plane having trouble during the flight.
It is believed that the pilot tried landing at Malclolm McKinnon Airport, which is about a quarter-mile away, but didn’t make it.
The homeowner put a ladder up to the roof so the plane's occupants could get down. The two people on the plane were taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Glynn County Emergency Management Agency officials said some fuel leaked and part of the landing gear pierced the home.
The area is closed until further notice while the FAA investigates the incident. The Glynn County Police Department, Glynn County Fire Department, Glynn County Emergency Management Agency and the Red Cross are assisting.
The Red Cross is helping the homeowners for the night.
