An employee of a Union City pizza parlor was shot in the leg during a carjacking as he left the restaurant late Sunday night.
The incident happened about 11:30 p.m. Sunday at the Pizza Hut on Jonesboro Road in the south Fulton County city.
Channel 2 Action News reported that a friend of the employee was picking him up from work in a silver 2007 Dodge Magnum, and as the victim walked out the restaurant's back door, carjackers opened fire, shooting the employee in the leg.
He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition, Channel 2 reported.
The carjackers also pistol whipped the victim's friend before stealing the Dodge.
