The third annual Pittsburgh Community Cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 19 and on MLK Day on Monday, Jan. 21. Volunteers are invited to meet at 8 a.m. on both days at the Pittman Park Recreation Center, 950 Garibaldi St. Volunteers are asked to bring extra refuse bags, gloves and rakes. Following each cleanup, lunch will be provided at the Pittman Park Recreation Center. Atlanta City Councilwoman Cleta Winslow plans to host the events in partnership with former Georgia State Rep. Douglas Dean and the Pittsburgh Ministerial Alliance.
“This event has proven to be a huge success over the past two years,” Winslow said. “I am very proud of the effort that volunteers have made in helping us to turn around our community.”
