Free pet vaccinations, routine pet checkups, dog leashes, free rabies shots and information on tethering laws will be available this Saturday at "Pet Education Day" at South Bend Park, 1955 Compton Drive. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event was started to educate residents about pet care and responsibility. It is hosted by Atlanta City Council members Joyce M. Sheperd and Carla Smith, along with Fulton County Commissioner Joan Garner. Staff from the Atlanta Humane Society and Fulton County Animal Control are scheduled to attend.
