It’s that time of year again, when campaign signs begin popping up along roadsides and intersections. Most local cities will hold a municipal election on Nov. 7. In Peachtree Corners, council seats for Post 2, 4 and 6 are up for election.

Peachtree Corners is reminding citizens to follow guidelines from the city’s sign ordinance before placing any signage. Campaign signs are permitted without a permit in yards and windows as long as they meet certain size and location requirements.

Signs may not be located in street rights-of-way, in medians or on any public property (park, library, post office, city hall, etc.). Signs may not be attached to traffic control devices such as speed limit or stop signs. Roof and moving signs are prohibited and no signs may be placed on private property without the owner’s permission.

Residents are advised not to remove signs posted illegally. Call the city’s Code Enforcement Department at 678-609-8820. Questions about sign permits and construction: 678-691-1207 or www.peachtreecornersga.gov.
