The contracts are signed to hire Brian L. Johnson as Peachtree Corners’ new city manager. Johnson, who has served as city manager for Anniston, Alabama for the past three years, was chosen from a number of candidates. The city council approved his appointment Oct. 18 during its monthly city council meeting.

He is replacing Julian Jackson who announced his retirement earlier this year.

Johnson brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise. The city will undoubtedly benefit greatly from his experience in handling the day-to-day operations of our city, said Mayor Mike Mason.

Prior to his position in Anniston, Johnson was city manager for Garden City in Chatham County, Georgia for six years. His background also includes over 18 years of management experience at both the federal and local levels of government.

Johnson is expected to start as city manager Nov. 21.
