Julian Jackson, Peachtree Corners’ first city manager, announced Trecently that after nearly three decades in public service, he was stepping away to enjoy a more leisurely lifestyle.

Jackson, who began Oct. 1, 2012 as the new city’s first city manager, played an intricate part in forming the city and putting into place the foundations to ensure it operated efficiently and economically.

“We will always be indebted to Julian for his efforts in getting Peachtree Corners operational,” said Mayor Mike Mason. “We have counted on his wisdom, advice and guidance.”

Before joining Peachtree Corners Jackson was the city administrator in Monroe for 12 1⁄2 years. He began his career working for the State of Florida, worked as Finance Director for Perry, Fla., and held other city management positions over the years. He was the Assistant City Administrator for Roswell before moving to Monroe.
