A request to rezone 6.5 acres on the northern edge of Peachtree City has been deferred until questions about drainage at the site can be addressed. Chadwick Homes wants to build 16 residential lots on the property, which currently has a single-family house with a pond. Residents from the adjacent Saranac and Ardenlee subdivisions have expressed concern that existing problems with flooding and erosion might be exacerbated by the higher-density development.

The City Council agreed on Feb. 15 to let engineers present a preliminary grading plan at the March 15 meeting before deciding whether to approve the rezoning.
