James Pennington, Peachtree City’s city manager since 2011, has announced his retirement from the position effective in June. He previously served as a city manager in South Carolina, Kentucky, Florida and Arkansas before coming to Georgia.
Pennington and his wife, Dee, who teaches fifth grade at Fayetteville Elementary School, plan to relocate to South Carolina to be closer to other family members. City officials said a search for a new manager will begin this summer.
