The Peachtree City Fire Department has issued permits to allow rock blasting below the construction sites of a new sewer pump station and a new shopping center on the city’s western edge. Fire Marshal John Dunlap said the blasting in the new Everton development along MacDuff Parkway and at The Overlook retail center on Ga. Hwy. 54 West will occur below ground and be contained by large metal plates.
No explosions will be visible above ground. Residents of Cardiff Park near The Overlook “could experience a mild vibration and low rumble” during blasting, Dunlap said.
The work at Everton will begin this week. Blasting at The Overlook will start next week.
