Motorists using Old Milton Parkway in Alpharetta can expect evening delays starting Sunday as GDOT contractors begin repaving portions of the road.

The project is expected to take just a little more than a month to complete and will stretch from Ga. 9 to the Alpharetta/Johns Creek border. The work will be done between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m. and officials say it will involve a series of lane closures.

Alpharetta public works officials said crews will start by repairing damaged sections then will come back to add a top coat of asphalt along the entire road. That means the road may look “patchy” until all the work is done.
