When she needed a safe ride, a 19-year-old Atlanta woman says she trusted her friends to call her a driver. When the car arrived, she got inside.

But instead of taking her home, the two men inside the car robbed and raped her before dropping her off at a MARTA station. And the car the duo was in may be the best hope at finding the men responsible, according to police.

"He told me because he's from the streets, after he robbed me and raped me, he was going to kill me," the victim told Channel 2 Action News.

The AJC does not identify victims of sexual assault.

The woman said it was around 4 a.m. Oct. 7 when, a few minutes into the car ride, one of men opened her door and brandished a gun. The victim said she was robbed, raped, and threatened in a neighborhood she'd never seen. Then she was raped by the other man as they were driving along I-75.

"It didn't make sense, but he just kept apologizing," the victim said of one of the men.

She was then dropped off at the Kensington MARTA station with $4, her cellphone and her keys, she said.

Atlanta police have not been able to identify the suspects, but hope someone recognizes the car, an older model Crown Victoria. Detective Donna Reith said it appears to be an old sheriff's deputy cruiser.

"It's the two-tone, looks to be blue colored with a white or tan roof. Late model probably ‘95 or above," Reith said. "It's really going to stand out."

Anyone with information about the car or the two men is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.

The victim said she is hopeful the case is solved before there are other victims.

"I want them to be caught," she said. "I feel as though (if) they're still out there they're going to do it again."

The people that contacted the driver are not cooperating with the investigation, police said.
