Roswell police early Thursday arrested a fourth person for Tuesday night's elementary school burglary in which an officer was struck by one of the suspects as she tried to flee.
The incident happened in the parking lot of St. David Episcopal Church on Old Roswell Road around 11 p.m. Tuesday, when the officer caught a woman and two men burglarizing adjacent Mimosa Elementary School.
The officer, who was responding to an alarm at the school, parked in the church lot next door, and as he got out, he noticed a silver vehicle parked along the wood line, Roswell police Lt. James McGee said.
"As he approached the vehicle to investigate, the vehicle started toward the officer," McGee said. "The officer pulled his weapon and discharged several rounds."
McGee said that the car then struck the officer, and the officer slid across the hood of the car.
"The vehicle continued on and struck the officer's patrol car," McGee said. "The officer gained his composure and as he started to approach the car, he heard noises coming from the wooded area and was able to put two more suspects into custody as other officers arrived on the scene."
McGee said the officer, whose name has not been released, was taken to North Fulton Hospital with minor injuries to his legs and thigh. The driver of the fleeing car was treated at the hospital for a minor graze wound to her head, then booked into the jail along with the two male suspects arrested in the woods.
He said police recovered numerous electronic items, such as flat screen TVs and laptop computers, that were taken during the burglary.
Police arrested Danielle Trynae Mitchell, 19, of Roswell, and charged her with burglary, aggravated assault on a police officer and party to a crime.
Mark Domitrece Anthony, 19, and Vance Jovan Breaux, 21, both of Roswell, were charged with burglary and aggravated assault on a police officer.
Early Thursday, police arrested Carl Jordan Williams, 18, of Roswell, and charged him with burglary, aggravated assault on a police officer, possession of marijuana and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.
