A Marietta police officer was injured in a car accident Wednesday.
A police officer was responding to a car crash and altercation between the drivers at South Loop and Atlanta Street in Marietta when he was hit by another car around 4:15 p.m., said David Auld, a spokesman for the Marietta Police Department.
The officer was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital with minor injuries, Auld said.
Motorists were urged to avoid the intersection, which was closed for two hours.
Nobody involved in the original car accident was arrested.
