The YWCA of Northwest Georgia is hosting a groundbreaking Thursday, Nov. 18 in honor of upcoming renovation at the Marietta location.
The current facility on Henderson Street was built in 1965 and once housed an indoor swimming pool and offered childcare services. The building was closed in 2007 to create a free domestic violence and sexual assault shelter, which is the only shelter of its type in Cobb County. The renovations will allow the YWCA to serve the increasing numbers of clients needing shelter services.
The groundbreaking begins at 5:30 p.m.
