The Norcross city council recently approved $321,482 with a 10 percent contingency, for a total of $353,631 for the construction of the Discovery Garden Park.
The park located on the grounds of the Norcross Welcome Center and Museum at 189 Lawrenceville St. is also home to the Norcross Community Garden. Funding for the project includes $145,000 from the 2014 Recreation SPLOST, $75,000 from the city’s Hotel Motel fund and $133,360 from prior year reserves. The city will now proceed with the bidding process.
