The top end of the Perimeter will see additional nightly lane closures this week as contractors prepare for “Transform 285/400,” the reconstruction of the I-285/Ga. 400 interchange in Fulton and DeKalb counties.

Between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly through Friday, contractors will alternately close one right lane on I-285 eastbound and westbound between Riverside Drive in Sandy Springs and east of Ashford Dunwoody Road in Dunwoody.

The closures are necessary to allow “geotechnical investigations” and to clean drains and do video inspections, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation. Similar nightly lane closures are planned this week for Ga. 400 from Glenridge to Hammond drives.

As always, exact dates of the work may change due to the weather or other factors, GDOT says. Motorists are cautioned to reduce speeds, pay attention and watch for workers in construction zones.
