Police in Warner Robins say the body of a newborn infant has been found in a restroom in the emergency room at a hospital.

Police Public Information Officer Tabitha Pugh say the body was found in a restroom at Houston Medical Center early Thursday.

Pugh says surveillance video shows a woman entering the hospital and that she appears to have delivered and abandoned the child in the restroom. She says the woman is being treated at the hospital.

Pugh says the woman came into the emergency room complaining of abdominal pain. She says an autopsy will be performed to determine if the child was alive at birth.
