The Braselton Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. April 27 to discuss a proposed development of 161 townhomes. Since statewide public health emergency restrictions on large gatherings and social distancing will likely remain in place on this date, the meeting will be held via tele-conference. Information for the public to access the meeting will be provided by Braselton via their web site at www.braselton.net.
The applicant, Johnnie Hastings, representing property owned by Vijay Madisetti, is requesting a zoning change to allow for construction on about 21.5 acres at Broadway Avenue/Ga. 124 and Josh Pirkle Road. The property is bordered on one side by I-85.
The proposed townhomes would be clustered around several large greenspaces, leaving 44 percent of the total property as open space.
Braselton’s mayor and town council will hold a public hearing on the same issue at 4 p.m. May 7.
