The Chattahoochee Technical College system, which has campuses in both Woodstock and Canton, has a new chief of police.
Charles Spann was sworn in Friday replacing retired chief Darrell Streefkerk. He had been a rank-and-file officer with the department for a little more than four years, and had worked as a training officer, records administrator and in other capacities.
He also worked for Cobb Police for more than 26 years.
Spann will be heading a force of nine full-time and 24 part-time police officers on the school’s eight campuses.
