Construction is expected to begin Wednesday on a new sidewalk along Hardscrabble Road in Roswell to close a half-mile gap and connect with the Hardscrabble Green Loop.

The sidewalk will be five to eight feet wide and run along the west side of Hardscrabble between Etris and Rucker roads, allowing pedestrian connectivity from the Roswell city limits at Arnold Mill Road to King Road, according to a city announcement. Construction will take about 90 days, weather permitting.

“The roadway will remain open throughout the duration of the project, although intermittent lane closures may occur as needed to accommodate construction,” the city said.

The City Council in February awarded a $268,485 contract for the project to SOL Construction.

The Hardscrabble Green Loop, a "complete street" project, will create a multi-use trail along Hardscrabble connecting Roswell High School and Sweet Apple Elementary School. Information: https://bit.ly/2C3dN2T
