An undeveloped parcel of just under four acres of land in Fayetteville will soon become another retail center.

The Fayetteville City Council unanimously approved a rezoning request at its May 7 meeting, allowing the wooded property at the intersection of Ga. Hwy. 314 and New Hope Road to be changed from a Community Commercial to a Highway Commercial designation. The proposed development will include two buildings with 7,500 square feet of retail space each, connected by an outdoor patio seating area. The site plan allows for multiple tenants, including two with drive-through service windows at the far end of each building. A new Smoothie King is planned for the third stand-alone building on the edge of the property and will include metal shipping containers as part of the roof’s design element.

The entire complex will have 125 parking spaces.
