Two new public schools are in the pipeline for south Forsyth County.

The Forsyth County Board of Education has approved construction contracts for Brandywine Elementary and DeSana Middle schools, both in Alpharetta and planned for August 2016 openings.

The $17,945,000 contract for Brandywine, to be built at 175 Martin Drive, was awarded to Charles Black Construction Company of Cleveland, Ga. DeSana Middle School, 625 James Road, will be built by Evergreen Construction of Atlanta for $29,576,000.

District spokeswoman Jennifer Caracciolo said the schools will relieve student enrollment growth in southwest Forsyth. She said redistricting to determine attendance boundaries is set for fall 2015.
