New Publix site in Smyrna seeks Sunday work
The Smyrna City Council is expected to decide Monday whether to allow Sunday construction on the new Publix.
Construction hours would be 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the nearly 13-acre site on the northeast corner of Atlanta and Spring Roads.
Benning Construction, general contractor for Publix, is requesting an extension of normal work hours for the erection of structural steel to stay on schedule for completion.
On Mondays through Saturdays, city officials are allowing Plateau Excavation Inc. to work extended hours from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. to complete the site work.
