New public art to be celebrated at intersection of Cascade Road and Benjamin E. Mays Drive

Atlanta City Councilwoman Keisha Lance Bottoms, the city’s Department of Public Works and the Office of Cultural Affairs are inviting Cascade residents to the dedication of “Chi Wara Sundial Lantern,” a new public art installation that accentuates streetscape improvements in southwest Atlanta. The dedication ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6 at the intersection of Cascade Road and Benjamin E. Mays Drive, SW. The new artwork is a bronze and stainless steel sculpture that serves as a sundial during the day and a lantern at night.
