Parking got easier in downtown Cumming this week, as the Mason Street Parking Facility opened near the Forsyth County Administration Building.
The five-story, 491-space garage cost approximately $8 million to build and is the second of two to open this year as part of the county’s new courthouse and jail project. The three-level Castleberry deck opened this summer at Castleberry Road and Maple Street. The new deck is accessible from nearby School Street.
County officials said crews are still working on Mason Street, as well as the surface parking east of the administration building. Improvements to School Street are in the pipeline as well.
The overall courthouse and jail project is set to finish sometime in 2015.
