Forsyth County officials will hold a ribbon-cutting for the newest addition to the county’s park system this week.

Lanierland Park is at 6115 Jot-Em-Down Road, off Ga. 400 in northern Forsyth County. Phase one of the project covers 109 acres and features four rectangular synthetic turf fields, four picnic pavilions, a playground and concession/restroom facilities.

Construction was funded by the county’s voter-approved 2008 park, recreation and green space bond. Lanierland is on the site of the former Lanierland Music Park, which closed in 2006. The county bought the property in 2009.
