A new, weekday, express bus service of the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority starts running Tuesday from Cumming, in Forsyth County, to Sandy Springs and Dunwoody in the Perimeter Center area.
GRTA Xpress Route 401 will leave Cumming Park-and-Ride at 5:50, 6:40 and 7:25 a.m. and runs express to the Sandy Springs, Dunwoody and Medical Center (Sandy Springs) MARTA stations, according to the Perimeter Community Improvement District.
The Perimeter area already is served by Xpress Route 428 from West Conyers and Lithonia; route changes take effect Tuesday, with fewer stops in the Perimeter area. The bus will no longer stop at North Ravinia Drive, the Atlanta Perimeter Hotel & Suites and the Firestone store, GRTA says.
Additional GRTA express bus service to the Perimeter area is planned in 2017 from the Town Center/Big Shanty area of Cobb County and the Sugerloaf Mills area of Gwinnett County.
