ID needed for man found dead at MARTA station

The Fulton County medical examiner’s office is seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who apparently fell to his death and was found March 25 at a downtown MARTA station.

The white male was at the station near Georgia State University and Grady Memorial Hospital, medical examiner Randy Hanzlick said. He is thought to be around 40 years old and weigh about 170 pounds. The man is 5 feet 6 and has brown hair, brown eyes and a sparse brown beard and mustache.

Hanzlick said the man also has distinct teeth with spaces. The ME released a sketch drawn by artist Marla Lawson of the Georgia Bureau of Investigations.

The incident occurred around 9:20 a.m. on March 25 at Jesse Hill Drive and Decatur Street, according to authorities. At the time, police on the scene told Channel 2 Action News that the man appeared to have been trying to enter the station from an adjacent property when he fell.

Anyone with information on the man's possible identity should call the medical examiner at 404-613-4400. Ask for the Investigations Section and reference case number 12-0542.
