The Mount Vernon Highway bridge over Ga. 400 in Sandy Springs again will be closed during the overnight hours through Friday as crews relocate utilities for the reconstruction of the nearby Ga. 400/I-285 interchange.

Mount Vernon will be closed between Peachtree Dunwoody and Barfield roads from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly through Friday, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

The recommended detour for motorists heading east on Mount Vernon is to turn left onto Barfield Road/Mercedes Drive and right onto Abernathy Road back to Mount Vernon. Westbound motorists should follow the same route in reverse. Drivers on Crestline Parkway, east of Ga. 400, will be allowed to turn right onto Mount Vernon.

Exact dates of the closure may change due to weather or other factors, GDOT said. Information: https://bit.ly/2jfU8S7
