A motorcyclist was killed early Thursday after he hit a deer in Cherokee County, a sheriff’s spokesman said.

Brian Drebber, 67, was conscious when deputies responded to the scene on Lower Bethany Road just before 5 a.m., Lt. Jay Baker said.

He died after he was taken to Northside Hospital-Cherokee in Canton, according to Baker.

No other details were released.

The shooting happened near Flat Shoals Road Thursday morning in DeKalb County.
