Overnight lane closures have been announced for this week at the top end of the Perimeter in North Fulton and DeKalb counties as state highway crews prepare for the reconstruction of the Interstate 285/Ga. 400 interchange.

The lane closures are for pre-construction work and work zone sign installation for the Transform 285/400 project, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

Through Friday, rolling lane closures will take place from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly on I-285 eastbound and westbound between Interstate 85 and Powers Ferry Road; and on Ga. 400 northbound and southbound between the Loridans Drive and Riverside Road.

Also, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. every night through Sunday, one left lane on westbound I-285 will be closed between Chamblee-Dunwoody Road and Riverside Drive.

Exact dates may change due to weather or other factors, GDOT says. Motorists are cautioned to reduce speed in work zones, pay attention and watch for workers. For real-time traffic conditions, call 551, go to 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.
