An 18-month-old girl was found safe early Wednesday, about four hours after she was reported missing in DeKalb County.
The toddler, identified by family members as Tiona Jenkins, was found safe behind an abandoned home, police told Channel 2 Action News. But investigators don’t believe the child ended up behind the home on her own.
Police were interviewing family members and witnesses early Wednesday to learn more information on what happened to the child. Tiona appeared to be fine, but was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
The child was reported missing around 8 p.m. in the Ellenwood area, and officers were searching the Orbit Circle and River Road area. Shortly after midnight, she was located outside.
No further information was available.
