A “monster” tree and power lines have blocked all traffic on West Lawrenceville Street near Main Street in Duluth.

Duluth Public Works and Georgia Power have been working to open the road since 6:20 a.m., and it will be several hours before traffic can commence on the route, said Duluth Public Works Director Audrey Turner.

“We hope to have the tree up by rush hour, but right now there are no guarantees,” Turner told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Motorists are advised to take the alternate route of McClure Bridge to Pine Needle Drive to Ga. 120.
