Mold has been cleaned from Washington High School and four classrooms reopened, said Atlanta Superintendent Erroll Davis on Friday.

Davis said there weren’t any incidents of student respiratory problems in the last week, but the classrooms in the school’s fine arts building had been closed because of elevated mold levels.

He estimated that between 10 and 15 schools schools had to be cleaned of mold after this summer’s heavy rains, but it took longer to correct the problem at Washington High, which opened in 1924.

“All of Washington is open for business,” said Board of Education member Courtney English.
