An 81-year-old missing Marietta woman with Alzheimer's disease was found safe Monday night after her car ran out of gas on I-85, Cobb County police said.

A Mattie's Call had been issued earlier Monday for Evelyn R. Satterfield.

After a short time away, Satterfield's husband returned to their home on Velma Drive just after 2 p.m. and discovered that his wife was gone, investigators said. She was believed to be driving the family's vehicle.

A Commerce police officer found Satterfield on I-85, and she was due to be reunited with her family Monday night, authorities said.
