The “Rock for Rescues” music festival in Milton to benefit animal rescue organizations drew more than 3,500 attendees, and the six-month program leading up to the April 28 event raised more than $30,000, organizers announced.
Milton hosted the inaugural music event in partnership with the Vox Artium Foundation. Net festival proceeds of $11,250 will be distributed equally among five designated rescue groups: Special Equestrians of Georgia, Pilots ‘N Paws, Pets for Vets, Canine Cellmates and FurKids.
“Thanks to the generosity of our event sponsors and the many micro-fundraisers hosted by our business partners, we not only raised money, but we raised awareness of these amazing organizations and their unique missions,” said Laura Jesseph, Rock for Rescues program manager.
The 2019 Rock for Rescues has been scheduled for Saturday, April 27. The city of Milton again will serve as host, while Vox Artium will line up Atlanta-based bands and the nonprofits to benefit. Information: https://www.rockforrescues.org/
