Georgia Southern University is teaching 20,212 students this fall -- a new record for the Statesboro college, officials announced Tuesday.
Enrollment increased by 1.6 percent from last fall. The student body represents all 50 states and 101 countries. Gwinnett, Bulloch and Fulton are the three Georgia counties sending the most students to the college.
The University System of Georgia is expected to release fall enrollment figures next week. Total enrollment is projected to increase, although at a slower rate than previous years.
