Georgia ranks seventh in the nation – and gets a B- rating – for its overall education quality, according to an Education Week report released Thursday. The state came in eighth in last year’s report. The nation as a whole was graded a C. Maryland was the top-ranked state with a B-plus. “While there is still plenty of work to do to improve education in Georgia, it’s good to see others recognizing some of the improvements that are happening in our state through the extraordinary work of our students, teachers, and leaders," state Superintendent John Barge said.
