At I-285 and Ashford-Dunwoody Road, a lane is slated to close briefly this weekend for an interchange project there. One westbound right lane of I-285 should close for an hour Saturday around 10 a.m., according to the Perimeter Community Improvement Districts.

Over the following week, some lanes of Ashford Dunwoody Rd. will close overnight, starting at 9 p.m.

The PCID's and the state Department of Transportation are reconfiguring the lanes on the bridge in a new way that they hope will make traffic flow more smoothly. ARIEL HART

Atlanta officials on Wednesday executed the first airport concessions contract for the new international terminal at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

Duty Free Americas Peachtree LLC is now set to sell luxury retail products -- including beauty and grooming products, cosmetics, fragrances, tobacco and liquor -- in two locations on Concourse F. Stores include Mont Blanc, Emporio Armani, Tag Heuer and Thomas Pink. The terminal is scheduled to open this spring.

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed signed the contract hours after Fulton County Superior Court Chief Judge Cynthia Wright denied a motion by another proponent seeking a temporary restraining order to prevent the city from executing the contract. JEREMIAH MCWILLIAMS

The Board of Pardons and Paroles on Monday will consider clemency for Nicholas Cody Tate, who was sentenced to death for killing a Paulding County woman and her daughter in 2001.

Tate, set to be executed by lethal injection Tuesday at 7 p.m., has yet to file his habeas corpus appeals. On Thursday, a Butts County judge signed a consent order that dismissed an appeal filed on Tate's behalf by his brother, because medical experts who recently interviewed Tate did not find he was incompetent and could therefore decide on his own to forgo his final appeals.
